| Al Houck –
Missions Director
|
|
![]() |
Al
spent the first 19 years of his life growing up in rural western North
Carolina. He attended church frequently but never had a personal
relationship with the Lord. After high school and an additional 6
months of wandering, he joined the Air Force and was eventually transferred to
Mountain Home, Idaho. Through various friendships, he met his future wife
Karen. Karen played an important part in seeing Al come to a personal
relationship with Christ in February 1978. They were married in August 1978 and
Al left the Air Force in November of that same year. He spent the next 3
1/2 years at Boise State University (go Broncos) and received his degree in May
1982 where he promptly went to work at his new job the following Monday.
He
has spent the last 16 years at Micron Technology in various Information
Systems positions. He currently is the Manager of Data Service where his
department is responsible for the Micron data stored in hundreds of databases.Al and Karen have had a heart for Missions almost
their entire Christian life. They love the missionaries and enjoy
assisting them to be fruitful on their mission’s field. They have traveled to
various fields such as Belgium, France, Philippines and Africa. They have
a deep appreciation and thankfulness for the sacrifice and labor each
missionary provides as the Lord leads them. They feel blessed to be part
of a church that loves missions and missionaries and believe BABC is one of the
best missions church in the United States.

![]() |
Vapor Sports utilizes the tools of sports combined with the truths of God to reach, affect change, and develop lives and souls in third world countries. Vapor Sports has 40 plants established worldwide. Beyond the spiritual ministry, plants are centers for humanitarian aid. They serve water to thousands, fund education, head community development efforts, fund sanitation projects, host medical clinics, create life-on-life accountability, and much more. In 2005, Micah traveled to Africa as a young man, and so moved by the plight of the children asked himself the question, “What can I do to make a difference here?” The result of that question has culminated in the organization of Vapor Sports, and the development of a template for ministry that Micah, along with his wife Audrey, have vowed to take the needy places of the world. |

held a Bible study in our home. As we began to outgrow our living room, the
Lord opened the door to rent an abandoned Chrysler dealership. We are averaging
40 in attendance each week. Last year we reached our goal of making contact
with every home in Brugge, leaving a brochure about
our church and inviting them to come and visit. We also put our website address
on it and over a 2 month period we had over 25,000 hits. This year's
Evangelization project consists of an interactive DVD which will take you step
by step down the Romans Road. We hope to plant yet another church within the
next 2 years. Right now we are trying to disciple a handful of young men who will
be future of this work.
